TN: West Tennessee Travelers

In April a small contingent of the West Tennessee Travelers kicked off the 2021 camping season at Long Branch COE RV park following the Volunteer State Winnies' meeting, Cliff and Kay Klein, Mike and Diana Logan, Greg and Karen Shipman, and David and Karen Strand spent April 18 to the 22nd enjoying the RV life in Tennessee's great outdoors. The weather (as usual in springtime) was changeable, but still enjoyable. It was perfect for sitting out and catching up with everybody since we were last together. 

We went out to the Rose Garden Restaurant for an evening meal (dining out) together and found the food to be very good - especially since none of us had to cook it or clean up after it. As a matter of fact, it was so good that we went back for breakfast together on our last day of the outing. One evening, as is our custom, we enjoyed a pot luck meal at the pavilion at the park. We had a "grill your own" main course and everyone brought a side dish to share. We have such good cooks in the group that it is always fun and delectable to sample what someone else brings. After supper we enjoyed sitting around the fireplace in the pavilion and swapping stories.

During the day, we enjoyed a variety of activities. David Strand, being an avid fisherman, caught (and released) several fish; the Shipmans did a lot of walking around the park with their dog; the ladies all enjoyed a mini educational course/sharing of information on Instant Pot cookery. New and inventive ways of using this appliance had everyone eager to try something new in their own kitchens. Everyone agreed that getting outside and away from all the Covid19 cares was relaxing and we are looking forward to enjoying our next outing May 17th to 20th at David Crockett Tennessee State Park.
