Frogfacts - December 2019

Well here we are in December already.  Where has this year gone.  Our dinner for this month started off on a sad note.  We were informed that Paul Tornow had passed away in his sleep last night.  Paul and Shirley were one of the founding members of the club. Paul was the contact person for this dinner, Our condolences go out to his family on their loss.  Paul will truly be missed.  Thank you again to the family and all their help.

The dinner for this month was held at Ole Zims Restaurant in Gibsonburg.  Our group took up two tables, and the food was served family style.  I don’t believe anyone went home hungry. If you did it was your own fault.  Cindy won the 50/50 drawing which turned out to be $50 dollars.  Congratulations Cindy.  There were also door prizes drawn. I will relay the note I received in explaining the prizes for the drawing.

"RECYCLING OF FROGS - Paul and I have been collecting frogs for a lot of years.  We decided to downsize so we are looking for some good homes.  We have 8 little frogs wanting a new place to live.  Wait to see. Names of those attending are to be drawn out. Will you be a lucky one?  Thank You. Written by Shirley Tornow."

I was one of the lucky ones.  I have a frog cookie jar who will be traveling with us. Thank you so much. As we were leaving to go home thunder could be heard as we exited the restaurant.  I hope everyone made it home before it started to rain.

I have been asked to see how many of the members would like to meet for dinner in January.  Contact me by e-mail at [email protected] or call 419-450-6215. Take a few minutes to contact me if the answer is Yes or No. More info to follow.

The schedule for next years sounds very exciting.

As I said in the beginning of this newsletter, the year has gone by too fast.  I enjoyed every moment of it even the ones that at the time were not so pleasant, but the outcome was a good one.  So, I would like to take the time to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

See you around the campfire,

Bernie Overly
