KY: Kentucky Explorers

You're invited to join the Kentucky Explorer’s Winnebago Club.  We're adventuresome RVers.  Our upcoming events for 2022 have been updated and will continue to do so closer to the event.  Check out the events out below!

All events are subject to cancellation due to health closes at our campground or places we are scheduled to visit.  Also, all outings require at least five (5) or more rigs to register and participate.

Notice of cancellation will be shared at least 5-days in advance, if possible.

June 9-13, 2022 

Boonesborough Ky. State Park Campground, reserve your site ASAP, fills fast. https://www.reserveamerica.com/explore/fort-boonesborough-state-park/KY/91810/overview  Beer Cheese Festival in Winchester, KY is the second Saturday in June (June 11, 2022) on main street in Winchester.  We will meet and greet on Thursday afternoon, June 9th, then decide where to eat. Friday we can explore the Winchester area, and Saturday is a full day on main street in Winchester with food and music.  Sunday, June 12th we can tour White Hall a Kentucky State Park or wherever. 

White Hall is located in Richmond, KY 7 ½ miles from the campgrounds.    

We will depart Monday morning, June 13th .  For those who are staying we will stop at Keeneland Race Track on the way on the way to the Kentucky Horse Park (32-miles).  Keeneland is open and free on Mondays for touring and watching the race horses exercise in the  morning before 9:30 a.m.

Monday- Thursday, June 13-16, 2022 

Pre-register at: https://www.reserveamerica.com/explore/kentucky-horse-park/KY/90800/overview    Noon check-in at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground, 4089 Iron Works Pkwy, Lexington, KY. (13-miles from Keeneland).

 Monday-Thursday we will explore the park, visit Lexington Kentucky’s historical sites, taste test the dining delights of Georgetown and Midway, Ky.  Sightsee the horse stables, samples along the bourbon trail, check out the Keeneland again for a race, investigate the Toyota auto plant and check on the mansions on the mend. 

Summer  2022  Visit and volunteer on non-profit, organic farm.  There are several in the Cincinnati, OH area, but I’m checking on ones in Kentucky.

This is a great way to learn new information and to support the future advancement to grow nutritious food in a safe environmental fashion.  More details will be shared in May 2022.
