Safety Recalls
26V-177 Non Compliance Turn Lights
Summary: A defect related to motor vehicle safety exists on certain:
- 2022 Winnebago Sunstar
- 2019 – 2022 Winnebago Adventurer
- 2019 Itasca Sunova
- 2017 Winnebago Brave
These motor homes were manufactured March 14, 2016, through May 1, 2023. These manufacturing dates are a broad overview and not model specific.
Certain Winnebago vehicles are equipped with front turn signal lamps that do not meet the luminous
lens area requirements. As such these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor
Vehicle Safety Standard FMVSS No. 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.” A
smaller lens can make it difficult for other drivers to see the turn signal, increasing the risk of a crash.
An update to federal safety standards in 2012 increased the required area of vehicle light lenses by 4
mm to improve visibility. The front turn signal light on some vehicles may not meet the updated
surface area requirements.
