NV: Washoe Winnies

Wagon Master Report

It is nice to have the monthly campouts done for the year and now the monthly luncheons. October and November luncheons are now history and job well done by our hosts, Bill and Nancy Grey and Dick and Margot Ball for November. Thank you all for hosting. The December luncheon will be held at the home of Bill and Barbara Trimmer on December 14th and you will need to RSVP by December 10th (See December’s newsletter for complete information).

The January 18th luncheon will be hosted by Mike and Tami Kobald. (See December newsletter for flyer). The February luncheon will be hosted by John and Nancy Jorgensen (see
newsletter for information). The March luncheon will be hosted by Dave Tiongco to be held at Red’s Old 395 (look for information in up and coming newsletter and the April luncheon will be hosted by Dan & Mchelle Rittel (information forthcoming). Will be hosting this till October 2020.

If you plan to attend any of the luncheons please RSVP to the hosts. We need to know this information for a head count that has to be given to the restaurant. Now we will be putting our attention to planning our Campouts starting in May 2020 through September 2020. The May campout will be hosted by Bev Malley and Marv Jensen at Meadowcliff KOA (information forthcoming). June and August are open months so if you would like to be a host for any of those months please contact me (Dan Rittel Wagon Master). The September campout will be hosted by Dan and Michelle Ritte in Quincy, California, September 15 – 20, 2020 (information forthcoming). This will also be a “Friendship Rally” for those past members who no longer own a Winnebago RV.

Just one more thank you to all of you who helped to make the Washoe Winnies events a joy or everyone. Please keep the ball rolling and do get involved, the more the merrier. Team Work.

Until Later,

Dan Rittel

President's Message

It’s hard to believe that it’s time to pull out the decorations in preparation for another Christmas Season. Looking back at 2019 we can feel pleased with our very active camping activities starting with Meadowcliff (Hosted by Bev & Marv) and where we explored lots of interesting Nevada history at Carson City (hosted by the Trimmer’s) and Goldfield (hosted by Dave Tiongco) as well as learned about the logging industry on the tour at Quincy (hosted by the Rittel’s). Thank you to all the hosts of outings and luncheons and to Wagon Master Danny for coordinating these activities. I would like to thank this year’s officers Bev Malley (VP) and Nancy Parents (Treasurer) for their support, for Michell Rittel stepping in as Sunshine Lady, and a special thank you to Marv Jensen (Secretary) for the wonderful job he has done with our monthly newsletter, publishing our meeting minutes and providing us with photographic records of our outings.

Our luncheon schedule for the winter has been filled and it’s time to begin planning for the 2020 camping season. I encourage all of you to support our Wagon Master by supplying
suggestions and also pitching in to volunteer as hosts for next summer’s activities. I’m hoping to see all of you at the Trimmer’s Christmas Party on December 14th where we can celebrate the season and begin to discuss some plans for next year.

As the year comes to a close we need to pause and reflect upon the loss of one of our dear members and to pray for healing to those who have experienced medical issues during 2019. My wish is for all of our Washoe Winnies to enjoy a Merry Christmas and a Healthy 2020 New Year.
