MO: Missouri Chief Winnies

President’s Message
Rick Cordt
March 2022
March 13

Hi Chief Winnies,

We’re almost to the end of our two months stay in Mission, Texas, and we’ve had a great time. We’ve had many dinners and Margarita nights with our Winter Texan friends Many of them have started to go back home as the winter season is coming to a close. Marie & Bob Wollin hosted a luncheon at Reyna’s Bar-B-Q in Weslaco. It was delicious. We made a fun trip to Progresso, Mexico, and had several lunches at the Riverside Club on the Rio Grande River. The flea markets will have a financial loss when we leave. Cheri has been in a quilting mode. She says she’s found a lot of good deals on fabric. (I wouldn’t know, ha, ha!)
Chris & Bobbi Prinslow spent three days on South Padre Island at the annual kite festival. Rick & Betty Kennedy left the Valley for a week of fun in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. They said it was a beautiful city.
Don & Betsy Wright are having the March luncheon at their home on the 12th at 12:30. Please RSVP Betsy and let her know you’ll be attending. Terry & Vickie Day’s shakeout campout is coming up in Louisburg, Kansas, on the weekend of April 8th. Also, on April 22-24, the Winnie-Mo-Tasca state meeting in Cape Girardeau is being held. It looks like a great year of camping is coming to-gether.
Hope to see you all in March. Safe travels!
Rick
P.S. The Winnie-MO-Tasca fall rally has been moved to the weekend of September 9th.

Winnie-Mo-Tasca State Meeting
April 22-24, 2022
Cape Girardeau, MO

Plans are being made for the President’s Caravan this fall. President Rick Cordt has chosen South Dakota and Custer State Park as our destination this year. We already have eleven coaches joining us at Heartland RV Park in Hermosa, South Dakota. The park doesn’t reserve sites, so anyone who wants to join us needs to call the park as soon as possible at 1-605-255-5460. Rick will be finishing up the route and deciding on the rest of the parks soon. He’ll let everyone know when to make the rest of our reservations.
Heartland is eight minutes from Custer State Park and twenty minutes from Mount Rushmore. There’s a camp store stocked with essentials, including snacks, beverages, beer, wine, souvenirs, toiletries, and more. The park will be a good central location for getting to the buffalo roundup and for day trips to other sites and activities around the area.
The Winnie-MO-Tasca state rally has been moved up to the weekend of September 9th. Therefore, the plan right now is for the caravan to leave directly from Kansas City instead of from Columbia. We’ll meet on September 23rd and make our way to South Dakota in time for the buffalo roundup. This will be a fun trip, so I hope anyone who’s thinking about going gets that Heartland reservation made soon.
