Branson in October

Our October campout was held in Branson, Missouri again. Terry and Vickie Day were hosts and they arrived early in the week, followed by Nancy and Kelly Collings, and Jim Rumbo. Bob and Marie Wollin were already staying at the park. By Friday evening, there were a total ten coaches with the addition of the Walworths, Cordts, Wrights, Rileys, Whitts, and Wards. Rick and Bettie Kenedy came and stayed in one of the cabins. We were happy to meet new members PT and Nancy Ward, as well as to see John and Marsha Whitt again.

Friday the Days treated early arrivals with a dinner of delicious stew and that famous McFarlains’ cornbread. The Wollins provided a couple of caramel apple pies with ice cream for dessert. What a nice start to the weekend! Friday was a beautiful day. Most of us just did a little shopping or sat outside enjoying the company of our friends. Friday evening was a potluck with a little party thrown in. Thank you, Nancy and Kelly Collings, for helping a friend celebrate her birthday! After dinner we went over to the outdoor pavilion and enjoyed the music of “Riff Raff”. Good times!

Saturday was another warm, sunny day, so after breakfast a few of us decided to visit the Top of the Rock at Big Cedar Lodge. We had a great time driving our golf carts around in all that beautiful scenery. The Bat Bar in Lost Canyon Cave was just a bonus. Some others went to see the play “Jesus” at the Sight and Sound Theatre. They said it was an outstanding production. We had pizza for dinner and went over to the Outdoor Pavilion again to listen to some music while some played games in the clubhouse.

Sunday morning we said our goodbyes and headed for home, already looking forward to next year. Thanks again to Terry and Vickie Day for hosting this great weekend!
