Our hosts were John and Bunnie Ohman and there were 23 members and guests in attendance. Members who attended were John and Bunnie Ohman, John and Leslie Keener, Fred and Linda Tomsett, Lyn Brown, Franklin and Margaret Jackson, Dennis Harrison, Jim and Barbara Bell, Wanda and Bobby Eubanks, Patty and Allen Wheelus, Fred and Kathy Genrich and Roy and Sarah Sowers. Guests who attended were Jesse Chambless and Chuck and Flo Sipple. Jesse Chambless decided he would rejoin the club and attend the state rally. He had been a member for quite a few years and took a short hiatus. Chuck and Flo Sipple are possibly interested in joining our club also.

We traveled to the quaint Appalachian town of Dahlonega, Georgia to The Smith House Restaurant which has been in business since 1922 for our lunch-eon at 12:00 p.m. This was a beautiful restaurant in the downtown area. We enjoyed a home-cooked country family-style lunch where bowls and plates of food are brought to the tables for all to share. Some of the food included; fried chicken, pot roast with vegetables, ham, macaroni and cheese, cole-slaw, fried okra, green beans, collard greens, creamed corn, corn bread, rolls and cinnamon buns with strawberry shortcake for dessert. Everyone enjoyed a nice meal and then we all moved to a private room for our club meeting which lasted 30 minutes. It was a very successful meeting in that we set up our teams for the upcoming state rally “The Roaring 20’s” from April 22nd to 26th at the Bald Mountain Camping Resort in Hiawassee, Georgia.
