FL: Buccaneer Winnies

February Campout - 02/11 to 02/14

We headed to Lazy Days for a very small but much needed get away. Following CDC guidelines is pretty easy while camping so we all just enjoyed. And it proved to be a fun filled Happy Valentines weekend. Friday the usual Pancake Breakfast was put on hold as we were given chits for the Front Porch and of course there was a trip to the store. Always a great way to start the day. There was a corn hole competition going on but BAD believes there is a force around the hole that pushes the bean bags way off to the side. There were lots of laughs but a very low score. Lunch was on our own. The afternoon being filled with the usual card games and dominoes and just visiting. As we sat enjoying each other’s company Judy happened to look to her side and there to her wonder was a little girl perched in a tree just watching her. Dinner was at Bob Evans where his “good mashed taters” were enjoyed. We can always count on Charley to have his bag of can tops for our Service Project for the Shriners. After visiting at the campsite we called it an early night.

Saturday Mickey waffles for breakfast before working on a new service project of stuffing beds for a Dog Rescue Mission. The breezes made it fun to cut the snippets used to stuff the beds but amidst the laughter we managed to complete a few. We stopped for our Hot Dog lunch with all the trimmings. Always a good time. Afterwards we switched to dominoes and visiting. Adventure swapping is always fun. Linda and Dick shared stories of their granddogs latest accomplishments in Lakeland this weekend.  Our air show overhead included two hot air balloons in the night sky. Ribeye steaks were in order at Exit 10 for a Valentine Feast. We enjoyed the music and another great meal and more stories swapped. But being late and very dark we headed home. Sunday morning we had the usual Continental Breakfast before breaking camp amid the rain showers and heading home.

Hope to see everyone in Wachula next month to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
