2020 Grand National Rally Update

Dear WIT Club friends,

As we shared last month, Winnebago Industries’ top priority is the health and safety of all team members, guests, business partners, and the communities in which we operate. That priority has been central to our decisions in the past month including office closures, production scheduling, community giving, and event participation.

With evolving conditions related to COVID-19, we continuously monitor the latest information and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO).  We have also seen several major summer events postponed or cancelled as large group gatherings may carry risks of spreading this disease.

Considering all the unique factors this year, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Winnebago Grand National Rally.  We believe hosting a closely concentrated, large-scale event poses too much risk to our customers, guests, and employees.  The Grand National Rally has been central to our Winnebago brand history for more than 50 years, and we do not take this decision lightly.

We are saddened that we will not see our many friends from across the U.S. and Canada in Forest City this summer, but we will look ahead to the 2021 Grand National Rally and the good times we will share then.

Many WIT state and regional events have also been cancelled or postponed this year due to this situation. We hope current conditions improve by fall for those events planned to take place. I’m pleased to share that Winnebago would like to offer monetary support to any state and regional events taking place this fall and will also send support to those rallies rescheduled for 2021.  More details will be shared with state presidents in a future email update from our team.

We know guests attending the Grand National Rally typically schedule service work during your stay. The Winnebago Factory Service Center will continue to accommodate guests at its facilities with extra safety precautions in place. Appointments are highly recommended and will take priority.

Our members have become like family over the past decades and we look forward to reconnecting with you each year.  We are a community bound by the love of travel and the love of Winnebago – we know future club and regional events as well as the 2021 GNR will be a happy reunion for new adventures together.

Best regards and good health.

Denise Hagen & the Winnebago GNR Planning Team
