By: GoLife Staff

The Winnebago Solis camper van is quickly becoming a favorite in the RVing community. If you are considering the Solis as your first or next RV, we’ve created this resource as a simple way to compare the options and help you make your decision.

Overview of the Winnebago Solis Models

As of fall 2022, there are currently four different Solis options available – including the Solis Pocket and the newly released Limited Edition Solis NPF model. The main difference between them is their exterior length, sleeping options, and features.

Each Solis is built on the same chassis: the Ram ProMaster® 280-hp with a 3.6L V6 gas engine, 9-speed automatic 62TE transmission, and 180-amp alternator.

The durable fiberglass, easy to use pop-top and FROLI® Sleep System (built to comfortably sleep two) is available in every model except for the Pocket. A wet bath with cassette toilet is also standard in the same three Solis models – 59P, 59PX, and NPF. (Learn more about cassette toilets here). In the Pocket, there is no wet bath and only a portable toilet.

Compare the Four Different Winnebago Solis Options...
Here is an overview of each Solis model and what makes it unique:

Winnebago Solis 59P

The Solis 59P has an exterior length of 19'9" and can sleep four people. This floorplan features the pop-top sleeping above (sure to be a hit with the kiddos!), and below you have the option of either the Murphy+ bed or optional sofa/bed with added belted seating.

Key Features:

  • Truma Combi® Eco Heating System for hot air and water in one space-saving appliance.
  • Dinette with automotive-grade seating and three-point seatbelts (plus, two additional three-point seatbelts when sofa/bed option is chosen).
  • One solar panel, 220-watt system is fitted to the top of the pop-top roof (the option without a pop-top features a 170-watt system).

Winnebago Solis 59PX

The big difference between the Solis 59PX and the 59P is the additional storage space at the back of the RV, which extends the length slightly as well (to 21"), plus a few additional features.

With the pop-top and Murphy+ bed, the Solis 59PX can also sleep four people. (Note you do have the option to remove the pop-top in the 59P and 59PX; however, the optional sofa bed with added belted seating is only available in the 59P.)

Key Features (in addition to those listed above in the 59P):

  • Dedicated L-track storage space with tie-downs for gear.
  • Coleman-Mach 10 NDQ air conditioner with directional vents.
  • Cummins Onan® QG 2800i gas generator.
  • Deluxe powered ventilator fan (in 59PX without pop-top).

Winnebago Solis Pocket 36A

The Solis Pocket is Winnebago’s most affordable camper van, featuring a flexible interior, extended season camping capabilities, and a compact design to efficiently navigate urban areas.

As a more compact version of the Solis with a focus on backcountry capabilities, the Solis Pocket is the smallest option in this list (17'10" exterior length). It also has additional features ideal for off-grid, all-season use and a smaller portable toilet with no wet bath to offer more living space. It does not include a pop-top option (sleeps three).

Key Features Unique to the Solis Pocket:

  • Extended-Season: Its Truma® VarioHeat™ system and extensive proprietary insulation makes the Pocket cold-weather capable.
  • Flexible Dinette: The innovative dinette offers a 3-point seat belt and converts to a sofa, daybed, or loveseat, and includes an adjustable/removable table.
  • Innovative Storage: There is storage space under the high platform Murphy+ bed which is sufficient for two bikes. It includes L-track mounted tie downs to hold gear in place and Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment (MOLLE) panels for flexible storage of smaller items. Raising the bed reveals an extended countertop surface for food prep or other uses.
  • Simple LP Fill Ups: The Pocket is one of the first camper vans in North America to offer a fillable or exchangeable 20-pound propane cylinder, located inside of the coach.

  • Increased driving performance with all-terrain tires and SumoSprings® Suspension upgrade.
  • Padded floor coverings for added comfort and an added thermal barrier.
  • The special exterior paint scheme features a mountain graphic, and the interior includes outdoor-inspired style as well.
