New England Rally

The Connecticut Nutmeg Winnies were pleased to host the New England Rally in September. We had a total of 29 coaches with 55 people in attendance. Thank you to everyone who joined us as we celebrated with our theme of “Vintage Vegas”.We had several “Early Birds” arrive on Thursday. We saw the lights begin to shine for the Freemont Street Contest. Everyone was ready for the Rally events to begin. We saw the spirit of Vintage Vegas during Friday’s Costume Contest. We even had “Elvis” in attendance Friday night! Congratulations to Jim Slattery and Alan Kendzior for taking First and Second Place for men, and to Linda Martel and Geri Murphy for taking First and Second Place for women. The evening wrapped up with Horse Racing. We enjoyed placing our dimes on the ponies, and the audience cheered us on. Saturday was a big day from start to finish. The “Connecticut Yankees” won Bean Bag Baseball. The Friendship Walk was held in the afternoon with many happy winners! Everyone was taking chances at the Raffle Tables. Elvis entertained us in the evening, brought to us by Bill McGrath and Meg Morrow. What a fantastic show! The downpour didn’t dampen our festivities. We called an intermission, gave out door prizes, and drew the winning raffle tickets. The Freemont Street Decorating Contest was awarded, with Pat Kane and T Thompson taking third place. Geri & Ken Murphy and Paula & Leo Iodice were awarded First Place for their fabulous rendition of Freemont Street. Elvis came back on stage to finish off the evening. He had the gals dancing in a Congo Line! We wrapped up the festivities with a Continental Breakfast and our closing ceremonies. Everyone is looking forward to the New England WIT Rally 2022 in Vermont and 2023 in Mass.
