Gateway Winnies 2021 Christmas Party

Many thanks to Bev & Jerry Pogue and Barb & Bob Soulon for hosting a wonderful Christmas party at Arrowhead Building Supply, St. Peters, MO! The decorations, delicious catered meal, and beautiful piano music combined for a festive event to kick off the holiday season. The modern kitchen facilities and spacious room served our gathering very well.

We welcomed new members Nancy & Butch Graham. We were happy to see several honorary members attending along with a few special friends and family members. Over 30 people attended.

Bev Pogue welcomed everyone and gave the blessing. After dinner, John Moll read a fun Santa-themed story which had everyone passing gifts right and left. Some of us had trouble keeping up and remembering our right from our left! Gary Bauer, a friend of the Pogues, played for us.

We continued our tradition of collecting Toys for Tots. Many thanks to everyone for their generous donations! And a special thank you to Bob Soulon for delivering the items to the Collection Site!

Recently Treasurer John Moll sent our club’s charity donation of $250 to Shriners Children’s St. Louis in honor of our departed member Earl Orr. Earl was an integral member of the Gateway Winnies and Winnie-Mo-Tasca for many years. He was also a Shriner. Since 1924, Shriners Hospital has provided expert, family-centered care regardless of the ability to pay. A prior relationship to or referral from a Shriner is not required to receive care. Located on the campus of Washington University School of Medicine, Shriners Children’s St. Louis is recognized as one of America’s top pediatric orthopedic hospitals. Over 110,000 children with pediatric orthopedic conditions have been treated at the St. Louis location.
