Raise your smartphone hand if you use applications like Wikipedia to learn about a town or attraction while you're traveling. If you do (or even if you don't) you'll want to download Google's latest version of the Field Trip app. Field Trip runs on either an iPhone or Android. It senses your location and pulls data from 170 different sources to display a mixture of historical information (and photos!), coupons and reviews of restaurants and attractions. You can tell Field Trip to send you notifications on a frequent or occasional basis (saves battery). We'd put this on the "must have" list for all travelers and the best thing about it is that it's absolutely FREE! You can find Field Trip for iPhones at itunes.apple.com for Android phones at play.google.com/store.
