WA: Rainier Ramblers

Message from the Rainier Rambler President Sharon Stanford

Greetings Ramblers! Thanks to Joe and Carol for hosting our July rally at Bayshore RV Park in Tokeland. I hope this isn’t a bad omen, but just like the June gathering, we had thirteen members present ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It seems that 13 is lucky for the Ramblers and everyone enjoyed time to visit, lots of good food, and excellent weather! Let’s get ready to Ramble… Rod and Sandra have planned a great August outing to Glen Ayr RV Resort in Hoodsport. Look forward to seeing you all soon!

Outing summary by Joe & Carol Robel - July 14-17 Bayshore RV Park, Tokeland, WA

Monday was arrival day and it was a beautiful day, as was the entire week! There were six coaches. They included Robyn & Jerry Gleim, Dee Dee Gauvreau, Sharon & Ed Stanford, Chuck & Jolene Laguna, Jim & Candie Storer, and Karen & John Gerrits. As we arrived and got set up, we circled chairs and caught up with the ‘going ons (or nots) in our lives and experiences during this unique time. Then as the day progressed and dinner hour approached, several of us headed to Grayland for a wonderful meal at the Wheelhouse Restaurant. I can tell you they were very happy to see our group after having been closed during this Covid time! They had just opened the week we were there! It was a great meal and wonderful to be able to be ‘out’ This is going to sound like all we did was ‘eat’! Tuesday morning several of us walked over to the Tokeland Hotel for breakfast. It is owned by new people, but they also served a lot of good food! After breakfast some walked over to see the animals on the Hotel property. A great start for another beautiful day! The remainder of the day was spent doing whatever we wished . . . seeing the sights or enjoying each other’s company outdoors!! In the early evening we shared heavy appetizers outdoors, yet enjoying each other’s company and the gorgeous day and the pair of eagles that had a nest in a tree over us! (Picture on the Right) Thursday we were joined by the Gerrits and gathered for a meeting in the afternoon. Again we were outdoors! We had a few snacks and lots of conversation! That evening we had brats & buns with fix’ins and many great dishes were shared . . . all outside. The hosts provided drumsticks for a welcome ice cream ‘treat’!! Too soon Friday came and another gorgeous morning! Hosts provided muffins, hard boiled eggs and everyone brought fixing’s for a great fruit salad! We actually had the ticket drawing and Karen Gerrits won! Another super outing for a very unusual year!!
