Friday night we will have our dinner out. Stay tuned for details. Potluck Saturday night before the show. Ann is supplying the Italian Beef, and suggests the rest of us to bring a side or dessert.

MAY CAMPOUT RECAP
If the first Cardinal Capers outing of the camping year could be described in one word that word would be HOT! We were at Tom’s Campground in Dodgeville, WI, May 11-14. Members attending were Bruce and Kathy, Jerry and Delores, Jim, Richard and Tina, and Toby and Barb. Wednesday, we had our Happy Hour and the monthly meeting. A nice breeze cooled things off enough for us to enjoy our first hot dogs over the fire followed by s’mores. On Thursday the temperature set another record. We enjoyed breakfast at Café Country Kitchen in Dodgeville. Bruce and Kathy had trouble with their refrigerator and made the decision to head for home. They phoned our great sponsors, Winnebago of Rockford who said they could order them a new fridge and install it in June! Our Happy Hour on Thursday was followed by the potluck supper, with a wide variety of foods. Three desserts? Can’t get much better than that! Friday morning Barb and Toby had to leave because of personal commitments. The remaining members were thankful it was a bit cooler and more comfortable! The members then traveled to Mineral Point to see the grave of Allen Ludden, Betty White’s husband. She will be buried next to him eventually. Friday night, the fish fry at a local pub, Stroz Bar and Grill in Hollandale was a busy place. The fish fry and the salad bar were delicious! They visited Grandview near Mineral Point, WI. Grandview is a tribute to an amazing folk artist/farmer who spent years putting mosaic on his house, buildings, and art pieces on his property. It was back to the campground for the campfire and a piece of pie for dessert. Sunday, they enjoyed the assortment of finger foods and fruit. Conversation was great and after breakfast they all prepared to head their separate ways. Thanks to Frosts for filling in for Watnes on Friday and Saturday!
