TN: VOL State Winnies

I am sure most have heard of the devastation in middle Tennessee caused by the tornado. There has been some damage to the fairgrounds at Lebanon but it seems to be limited to the Fiddlers Grove area. The campgrounds and buildings were not impacted so we are still good to go for our campout. Let us all pray for those living in the affected areas who have lost homes, neighbors and loved ones.

President’s Message

Snowbird season is winding down and time to finalize the summer plans.  Hope your winter season has been enjoyable wherever you may have been. Seems like there have been wide temperature swings regardless of location.   Always enjoy the returning sunshine and looking forward to what is coming up.  Will highlight some of the Vol State Winnies events and hope to see as many of you as possible.  You can also check the VSW website for updates and information, registration forms, etc.

Want to welcome Gary and Melanie Ensminger from Fairview, TN and Dwight and Pam Clayton from Knoxville, TN as the newest members of VSW.  They have other commitments during the April outing, but Gary & Melania would like to travel with someone to the GNR.  It may be a little early yet, but if going to the GNR and this may work for you please contact Gary & Melanie at [email protected]

April 22-26, 2020 VSW Outing

Some of the highlights for the April outing include:  Tram tour of Nissan Auto Plant, Rving info and tech Q & A Session, Crafts, Team Trivia, discussion/planning for GNR Row activities, general fellowship, etc.  To assist in planning, request you email your reservation to our Treasurer, Joe Moore by April 1st.  See attached information on this.

July 13-17, 2020 GNR

As Winnebago says, “Be ready for the road trip of a Lifetime to the Hawaiian Paradise of Forest City, IA”.  Kind of a short cut to Hawaii but should lead to a colorful and enjoyable time at this year’s GNR. We need to put our creative thinking cap on to discuss a TN State Row display for “Road Trip to Hawaii Grand National Rally 2020”. Prefer something that is catchy, but not too labor intensive in preparation.  If you can’t make the April outing and have suggestions, please contact me.

GNR registration opens on March 16th. Per message from WIT, you will receive a $25 registration discount if you register online before April 1st at State Rows will take RV’s up to 40’. You are encouraged to sign up for the TN State Row for parking.

If you are like Virginia and I, our summer is filling up – almost feels like we are full timing, but that is what retirement and having a Winnebago is all about.  Have safe and enjoyable travels and hope you can join us on all of these adventures.

Don’t forget several of the April 1st suspense dates!
