OH: Maumee Valley Winnies
FROGFACTS, June, 2020
Well the month of June is behind us. It ended with a few of us meeting at Sauder’s for an informal get together. Everyone there was on their own. Those who ventured out were the Beaver’s, Becher’s, Brenner’s, Hastin’s, Henning’s Hoile’s, Iott’s Moulton’s, Overly’s Radabaugh’s and Viers. The weather was perfect. It did rain on Thursday night after everyone was in bed. When Friday morning broke, the weather was overcast but cleared quickly. The breeze made the heat bearable. We were able to get together quite easily during the day because not everyone stayed in the campgrounds. Some ventured out to do some shopping, others went sightseeing. While others stayed in the campgrounds and relaxed.
The evenings brought us together at a campfire. The Hoile’s had a campfire at their campsite with the 10 people required. The rest who wanted to enjoy the fire stayed at the side of the Overly’s motorhome and faced the fire this way we could have 10 and10 at each campsite and still enjoy the fire. Needless to say, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Sunday brought the sun out again and the campers. Former members spotted Cruisin’ the grounds Jack and Barb Stover (Archbold, Oh) Sporting their vintage car 1965 AMC Rambler Marlin. Dave and Sharon Rex with granddaughter Sarah (Archbold) were bicycling thru the campgrounds, also former members.
For once I have no bad news to report. Everyone seems to be healthy and well. All have returned home from their winter stays in the warmer climates. Sue Hoile told us that she will have knee surgery in July. Take it easy Sue.
Well I guess it is time for me to say that I will see you at the next campout.
