OH: Buckeye Winnies

The Buckeye Winnies travelled to Wapakoneta, Ohio for a beautiful fall weekend of camping. Those able to make the trip are as follows: Dan Anderson, Sandy and Marlin Geesaman, Karen Kinser, Charlotte and Walt Kowalcyk, Jo Larson, Laurie and Walt McClellan, Gail Peckham, Barb and Jim Stewart, Charlene and Aaron Zatik, Julie and Len Zevchek and last but not least our Wagon Masters Nancy and Ed Irving. Friday evening dinner was stuffed pepper soup, rolls & butter, and blueberry pie bars for dessert. A beautiful campfire was enjoyed by all. Our Wagon Masters had prepared a wonderful breakfast Saturday morning. Broccoli, cherry tomato & onion frittata, mushroom & red pepper frittata. Plus sausage and English muffins, pineapple orange juice, and unpasteurized cider. Our Wagon Masters arranged with the Regional Visitor Center to provide “goodie bags” with lots of literature about the area. They were delivered to the campground. Also, the KOA gave everyone a plaid KOA Koozie! After a hardy breakfast, the group headed off to the Armstrong Air & Space Museum located on Apollo Drive. Dinner Saturday night: Choice of 6 oz filet or chicken marsala. No takers for veggie entree. Breakfast Sunday morning included strawberries & blueberries, homemade pumpkin bread, and local donuts. A Traditional Buckeye Winnies Weenie Roast (with one fat greenish worm) concluded a wonderful fall campout at Wapakoneta!
