MILWIT

President’s Corner by Doug Cashmore

I began this newsletter on April 1, 2020 and I wish this was an April Fool’s Joke. Our lives and our plans for 2020 are on hold because of the COVID-19 Pandemic! To be honest, I really don’t know if we will be able to have a rally this year. I sent out word several weeks ago that our Eastern Rally was cancelled. As I write this, I cannot be sure that we will have a National Rally either. I checked with Kathryn Padgett from the WIT office. She said that GNR was still in the works but that the WIT office was watching the news from Washington and would make a decision about GNR in the coming weeks. Since the National Rally is dependent upon GNR; our rally is also dependent upon their decision. I will inform you all by email as soon as I learn the WIT Club’s decision on GNR. Please stay in touch with MILWIT members and help them out if you can. Sometimes something as simple as a phone call or email will be enough to cheer someone up for that day. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you become aware of a member who has contracted this virus or any other illness. Take care and may God bless you and your families during these stressful, uncertain times.

Notes from the Treasurer by Lanita Cashmore

I am excited to let everyone know that we have new members; Ron & Carmen Sanders from Dayton, OH joined us this past month. We look forward to meeting them in July and giving them a warm welcome to our club. Anyone interested in joining MILWIT should print off our application from the MILWIT website and mail it to my address, on the form, with a check for the required membership fees. Please email me when you have sent me snail mail so I will look out for your letter. We are often on the road and I do not want to miss your letters. Anyone who needs a replacement hat or patch send me an email and we can arrange for payment and shipping to your address.

Notes from the Secretary by Kim Korber

MILWIT members are bonded together by our military affiliation regardless of branch of service or whether we RV full-time or part-time. MILWIT is YOUR club within the Winnebago family. New members are this organization’s lifeblood and future. Please spread the word about membership in MILWIT throughout your travels. Best wishes to you and your loved ones in the coming year.

MILWIT Web Site

The MILWIT website (http://www.milwit.net/) remains the main source of information for the members with the latest news and plans of the club. Please feel free to email the webmaster at (mailto:[email protected]) with any news you would like to share with other members. I am very interested in member’s pictures both old and new to include in the website. Please share any experience with the many military campgrounds around the country. We would all benefit from knowledge of which bases have good and bad campgrounds to visit when we travel.
