Memorial

John Fischer, 85 - On March 27, 2021 John died peacefully at his daughter’s home in PA, and has gone to join his beloved wife Marlyn who died in 2018.  John and Marlyn bought their first  21 ‘ Brave in 1974 and were assigned WIT #29409. The entire Fischer family became very active in both their local club, the Chesapeake Winnies, and the Maryland State Club.  After attending numerous GNRs he and Marlyn became involved in volunteering with parking and other tasks at the National Level.  Between 1976 and 2017 John and Marlyn missed less than five Grand Nationals.

John and Marlyn were both educators in the Anne Arundel County, Maryland school system, John for over 37 years.  Raising four children and their teaching careers brought them great joy, but their dreams were realized when after retirement they became the East Coast Reps for WIT.

After several years of local campouts, dealer shows, and State Rallies they left the State Rep position but continued their involvement as WIT Tour Wagonmasters and Tailenders.  The family always laughed as they were often wearing matching color polo shirts but the WIT logo was always present.

Traveling became so much of their life they gave up their home base residence and when needed a landing point would often be found in one of their children’s driveways.  A requirement when a renovation was being done at his daughter's house that a 50 amp plug be added to the electrical project..  After a recommendation from other Winnebago owner’s John and Marlyn settled into a lot at Toby’s RV Resort in Arcadia, FL. where they lived for over 10 years.  Health reasons required John to relocate in April of 2020 and the sale of his last Winnebago was a difficult day for him.

The Fischer family would like to thank every member of the WIT family for all their love and support in really helping John and Marlyn fully experience what a dream retirement could be.  Life for John and Marlyn would not have been complete with their WIT Involvement.
