Massachusetts Quinebagos Local Chapter by Pat Kane
So what if there was a tropical storm heading our way! We were set to camp at Ginny B's campground in Foster, RI on July 8 – 11, 2021. Connecticut Nutmeg Winnies invited Mass WIT for a friendship campout. Eager to start the weekend, many folks started arriving on Wednesday. By Thursday afternoon there were 13 rigs parked in the safari field. And yes, the rigs kept coming. Friday night arrived and there were 26 rigs in attendance! Although the weekend campout was at times wet and windy there were also dry times for socializing. True to their reputation, CT served up a delicious breakfast and a fun ice cream social. Each day at happy hour there were plenty of appetizers to be sampled. Folks enjoyed playing "left, right, center", taking, walks around the campground, watching the river level rise and talking with each other. The central meeting place of the campout was the firepit. The fire burned just about non-stop thanks to truckloads of wood that CT had. Thank you to Connecticut for hosting a great campout.
