GA: Winnie Rebels

March 20, 2021

A Big “Thank You” goes to our Host, Club President, Dennis Harrison for organizing our March luncheon at the Buckner’s Family Restaurant in Jackson, GA. Pictured above our members from left to right: Linda Tomsett, Lyn Brown, Leslie & John Keener, Kathy & Fred Genrich, Franklin Jackson, Dennis Harrison, Bobby & Wanda Eubanks, Roy & Sarah Sowers.

Group gathered outside a restaurant.

Fred & Kathy Genrich won the prize for traveling the farthest, followed by the Eubanks. No prizes were given for this feat. Our luncheon began at 11:30 am and we all enjoyed a very filling and satisfying home cooked meal that was served on large lazy-Suzan’s. Most of us really enjoyed spinning it round and round to see how much food and peach cobbler was left!

Following our lunch, we all hiked across the parking lot to the picnic table area and held our State Club meeting 20 minutes. The upcoming State Rally was the main topic. Everything is falling in place very nicely and we’re all getting pretty excited! To date, we have 33 coaches signed up, and people are signing up daily so our participation is growing! The Ruby Red’s Band will be playing Saturday night and our favorite RV support companies have lined up and committed to providing their support. If you haven’t signed up to participate yet and are able to – hurry up!

After our State Rally, we only have 3 events on our schedule: Winnebago’s Grand National Rally in July, then 2 outings in September and October. Everyone that hasn’t hosted or that isn’t scheduled to host this year is asked to think about either hosting an outing or just identifying a fun place and date to meet. This would be called a “No Host Outing”. Contact, me, Leslie Keener if you have a great idea for us to meet this year. The months available are: May, June, August, November and December.

And, finally, our webmaster, John Keener has been working with our club website and getting it updated. John and I flew to Hawaii a few days after our State Meeting and he decided to work on it in flight. Roy Sowers sent us a video so we’d know what to expect! While John was working away, I was busy thinking about what to put in our short newsletter! Over time our website will have a new look, so take a look from time to time. The website is at: gawit.com.
