A fresh start! Carrying on the Tucalota Springs RV Park tradition that Chuck Shores started many years ago, Anne & Brent Randal along with Keith and Pat Bridge, filled the gap. There was a very good turn out and although the weather was chilly, everyone enjoyed the fire both nights. The wagonmasters are shown tending the pot of boiling water that was used to make omelets in a plastic bag. What a great way to start out the day! Although Bret claimed that was the first time he had conducted a meeting in a long time, one would have ever known it. He did an excellent job. The hosts planned all kinds of activities that kept everyone busy. Sharon and Bert Kersey won the horseshoe match. The fishing tournament, well, someone forgot to tell the fish to show up. Nary a bite or a whopper was landed but everyone had fun at that too. Since there was no evidence of someone winning the tournament, Bruce gave everyone who participated a ticket to win the first place prize. Pala RV Resort gave the club two complimentary nights that could be used Sunday through Thursday. Bev let out a “whoop” that would wake the dead with the wining ticket. Thanks Bruce! All in all, everyone agreed that this was a wonderful way to get back up to speed again. It could be said it was like “old times” Fishing contest, horseshoe tournament, craft activity, raffles, omelets in a bag, root beer floats, member- creat-ed nature movie — These are some of the fun events held/planned for the April, May and June outings. Alt-hough we got off to a slow start in 2021, the recent outings were terrific and made up for some of that lost time. I am happy to report that we have two new members — Randy and Erin Hammond. Welcome to SDRH. As is the custom, no outings are planned for July and August. Here is wishing everyone a fun and safe summer.
